The Official Home of the University of Connecticut Marching Band

Welcome to the official home of the Pride of Connecticut, the spirit behind the UConn Huskies. This nearly 300-member-strong wall of sound is best known for its energy and undying passion for music and the University of Connecticut. Famous for electrifying 40,000-seat Rentschler Field and making it one of the loudest stadiums in the nation, the UConn Marching Band (UCMB) also brings its animated and exciting shows to crowds across the Northeast and the world.

Preseason

All members of the Pride of Connecticut arrive one week before classes to begin preparations and rehearsals for the upcoming season. Upper Leadership Staff (Drum Majors and Band Captains), as well as Section Leaders and various members of Band Council arrive a few days before the rest of the band to prepare for a well-run week. The UConn Department of Residential Life will send details about checking in early, but these can be disregarded as they do not apply to band members. Pride of Connecticut Uniform Drive 2008

For over one hundred years, the Pride of Connecticut has embodied the spirit and pride surrounding many of UConn’s storied athletic contests. Now that the Huskies have joined the upper echelon of college football as champions of the Big East Conference, the UCMB looks to upgrade its aging uniforms to a new, exciting style fit for today's college marching band environment.

The Band is currently in the second year of a drive for funds for new uniforms, as its current uniforms will see their fifteenth year of service this coming fall! (Normal life expectancy is 8 to 10 years). The new uniforms need to be purchased as soon as possible to be debuted for use in the coming season!

Drumline/Color Guard Summer Camps

Over the summer, the Drumeline and Color Guard Sections hold three summer rehearsals to prepare for the upcoming season. The camps are not mandatory, however are strongly encouraged to learn style, technique, and preparation for the upcoming season. CLICK HERE for more information.
